ATLANTA (October 29, 2010) – Senate Democratic Leader Robert Brown (D-Macon) today advised Robb Pitts of his opposition to efforts to bring casino gambling to Georgia.
“Persistent efforts by Fulton County Commissioner Robert Pitts to relocate the Georgia Music and Sports Halls of Fame from Macon to Atlanta have caused me to withdraw my support of his proposal to bring casino gambling to Georgia. I will also encourage my colleagues in the Georgia Legislature to oppose any proposal for legalizing gambling in our state,” said Brown. “The Halls of Fame are steeped in Macon’s history and I will do everything I can to ensure that state government resources help them remain in Macon.”
