ATLANTA (April 13, 2010) – State Sen. Valencia Seay (D-Riverdale) has been released from the intensive care unit at Emory University Hospital after receiving treatment for acute inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. Her doctor expects that she will be discharged from the hospital in the coming days and that she will make a full recovery.

Sen. Pearson Commends Dawsonville Humanitarian on Tour of the Front Lines of Iraq
ATLANTA (April 9, 2010) – State Sen. Chip Pearson (R-Dawsonville) is applauding the brave efforts of Dawsonville humanitarian Dr. Ben Mathes, who will spend nearly three weeks reporting from the front lines of Iraq. Founder of Rivers of the World (ROW), an international development and humanitarian organization based out of Dawsonville, Mathes will shoot daily footage of his time embedded with the 4th Platoon of the 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team. ATLANTA (April 1, 2010) – A quick glance outside proves that springtime is finally upon us. After one of the coldest winters Georgia has seen in years, the sun is shining, flowers are blooming, and birds are chirping. These are beautiful symbols of the rebirth and renewal of life that we celebrate each spring, particularly on the Easter holiday.

Goggans’ Government Efficiency Measure Passes General Assembly
DOUGLAS, GA (Apr. 1, 2010) – A bill authored by State Sen. Greg Goggans (R-Douglas) requiring tax expenditure reports to be included in Georgia’s annual budget report was overwhelmingly approved by the Georgia House of Representatives Thursday. Senate Bill 206 has been endorsed by both Republicans and Democrats seeking increased efficiencies and cost savings for Georgia’s state government operations.
