State Senator Burt Jones Sworn into Office

ATLANTA (January 16, 2013) – State Senator Burt Jones (R-Jackson) was officially sworn into office to represent the 25th District today at the state Capitol.  Sen. Jones will serve Baldwin, Butts, Greene, Jasper, Morgan and Putnam counties along with portions of Bibb, Jones and Walton counties.

“I look forward to serving the needs of my constituents and addressing the important issues,” said Sen. Jones.  “I am humbled by the confidence my constituents have placed in me, and I plan to make them proud once again.”

Prior to being elected to the Senate, Sen. Jones served as the President of Rotary, on the Butts County Water Authority Board, the Chamber of Commerce and in Partners for Smart Growth, a job creation organization.  Sen. Jones started his own business, JP Capital and Insurance, Inc. where he has accumulated ten years of experience in insurance brokerage and risk management.

Sen. Jones is a sixth generation native of the 25th district and lives in Jackson, Ga. along with his wife, Jan and their children, Stella and William.   Sen. Jones has a Bachelor’s of Science in History from the University of Georgia where he also served as team captain for the 2002 SEC Champion football team.
