ATLANTA (February 5, 2018) | Sen. Emanuel Jones (D – Decatur) will hold a press conference Tuesday, February 6, 2018, to urge the Senate State and Local Governmental Operations Committee to postpone a hearing on Senate Bills 262 and 263, until more public input is received.
“When dealing with legislation that has the potential to effect the financial viability of a city, it is vital that input from all stakeholders is included before any decisions are made,” said Sen. Jones. “This legislation has the potential to impact an entire community by annexing away a large portion of Stockbridge’s commercial zones, without which Stockbridge could see a drastic loss of revenue. I am hopeful that any vote on this proposed legislation will be delayed until we can get a clearer picture of how Stockbridge residents will be effected.”
