Joint Meeting of Senate Committees on Public Safety and Science and Technology on Artificial Intelligence

ATLANTA (October 26, 2023) | On Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 10 a.m., the Senate Committee on Public Safety, chaired by Senator John Albers (R – Roswell), and the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, chaired by Senator Chuck Payne (R – Dalton), will hold a joint meeting on the topic of Artificial Intelligence. The meeting will include presentations from industry experts with the goal of analyzing current and projected future use of artificial intelligence.

Senator John Albers Recognized as Living Kidney Donor at Atlanta Braves Baseball Game

ATLANTA (April 26, 2023) | Yesterday, Senator John Albers (R – Roswell) and his son Will Albers, were recognized as living kidney donor representatives at the inaugural Living Donor Awareness Game, hosted by the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. Sen. Albers and his son were also joined by Joe Isaksen and Paul Hailstone, their living donor representatives.

Senator John Albers Passes Legislation to Protect Workers and Businesses in Georgia

ATLANTA (February 23, 2022) | Senator John Albers (R – Roswell) has sponsored Senate Bill 331, the Protecting Georgia Businesses and Workers Act. SB 331, which recently passed the Senate, is a critical piece of legislation that will prevent local governments from passing onerous mandates relating to the regulation of employee work hours, scheduling, or employee output. However, SB 331 allows local governments to dictate hours and scheduling for any business that contracts with local governments.

Attorney General Chris Carr, Senator John Albers and Rep. Houston Gaines Push Legislation to Crack Down on Organized Retail Crime in Georgia

ATLANTA (February 16, 2022) | On Tuesday, February 15,  Attorney General Chris Carr, State Senator John Albers (R – Roswell), and Rep. Houston Gaines (R – Athens) joined representatives from CVS Health and The Home Depot in a press conference to discuss SB 332, the Georgia Inform Consumers Act. SB 332, which passed the Senate 51-0. SB 332 would continue Georgia’s efforts to crack down on organized retail crime by providing critical protections for consumers who unknowingly purchase stolen and counterfeit products from online marketplaces. Specifically, SB 332 would require online marketplaces to verify high-volume third-party sellers and provide consumers with an email, phone number or direct electronic communication to contact sellers with questions or concerns about the products they are seeking to purchase.
