Statement from Sen. Butterworth Regarding Federal Disaster Declaration for Stephens County

ATLANTA (September 25, 2009) – Today, State Senator Jim Butterworth (R-Clarkesville) released the following statement regarding the federal disaster declaration for Stephens County.

“I am grateful that a federal disaster declaration has been issued. The citizens of Stephens County are now eligible to receive federal assistance that will facilitate a quicker recovery process.

“Joint Georgia Emergency Management Agency and Federal Emergency Management Agency teams have been surveying the damages so that aid can get into the hands of the citizens – where it is most needed.

“I would also like to thank the governor for his continued support throughout this trying time.
