Senate Bill 249 Passes Georgia House

ATLANTA (June 22, 2020) | Today, Senate Bill 249, sponsored Sen. John Albers (R – Roswell), received final passage in the Georgia House of Representatives. Senate Bill 249 would increase the monthly retirement benefits payable to members of the Georgia Peace Officers’ Annuity and Benefit Fund.

“I would like to thank my colleagues in the Georgia House for taking this important step to support the law enforcement community across Georgia by passing Senate Bill 249,” said Sen. Albers. “Now, more than ever, our public safety officers deserve our backing and this legislation is an important part in recognizing our officers for all they do for Georgia. I look forward to this bill receiving the Governor’s signature in the coming weeks and I will continue to work on legislation in the General Assembly that supports those who dedicate their lives to protecting us.”
