ATLANTA (July 16, 2015) | Sen. Vincent Fort (D- Atlanta) has sent the following statement on the eviction of two residents at Friendship:
“I am outraged that the management company for Friendship Towers, GlassRatner, is attempting to evict two tenants. Indeed there was an eviction hearing today. GlassRatner and its clients, Friendship Baptist Church are conducting themselves like slumlords by forcing elderly, frail, and disabled tenants to endure health threatening conditions with faulty or no air conditioning. Apparently, neither GlassRatner or Friendship Baptist Church have any shame. We will fight to make sure that no tenant is intimidated or retaliated against. I’m asking GlassRatner to withdraw eviction proceedings within 24 hours.”
