Sen. Vincent Fort Issues Statement on New Developments Surrounding Fort McPherson/Tyler Perry Land Deal

ATLANTA (December 5, 2014) | Sen. Vincent Fort (D- Atlanta) has released the following statement regarding reports that Tyler Perry may have withdrawn his offer to purchase portions of Fort McPherson:

“If the Tyler Perry deal does indeed fall apart, it will be because key stake holders sought to sale historic and valuable land without public input,” said Sen. Fort.  “Although I’m hopeful the media reports are accurate, we must remain cautious as the community has repeatedly been barred from conversations between all parties involved surrounding the redevelopment of Fort McPherson.

Until there is a clear indication the deal is officially off, I will continue to pursue all options available to me, legal and otherwise, to ensure the community and surrounding areas are protected from any short sighted, backroom deals.”
