“I am committed to doing all I can to stop the horrible victimization of young boys and girls in Georgia and to protect innocent children and teens from abuse. We must educate the public about the devastating reality of child sex trafficking in our state and fight to provide the resources necessary to combat these crimes much more effectively,” said Unterman.  “We must focus on awareness, prevention, and then restoring the lives of these fragile children. It is imperative we act now to address these horrendous crimes taking place all over our state and protect these young victims from future abuse.”

The special will air Sunday January 30th, at 8:00 p.m. with the world broadcast premiere of the short film The Candy Shop, followed by a PBA news special, How to Stop the Candy Shop with will feature Sen. Unterman  An encore presentation will air at 10PM on the same evening. A trailer for the world broadcast premiere of “The Candy Shop” can be viewed at http://vimeo.com/15468391.

With each legislative session, Sen. Unterman has championed legislation that has sought to end the sexual exploitation of minors. She continues to fight for a change in Georgia law that will view those children forced into prostitution as the victim and not a criminal.
