Sen. Nan Orrock and Women In Government Release PSA on Diabetes

ATLANTA (October 19, 2012) – Sen. Nan Orrock (D- Atlanta) and Women In Government are pleased to release a public service announcement (PSA) on the complications of diabetes and the importance of managing the disease.

Sen. Orrock and Marjorie Maginn, president of Women In Government, invite the media to contact them regarding interviews or information on the PSA or the Diabetes Health Challenge: Educate, Empower, Engage campaign.

In November of 2011, Women In Government, in partnership with sanofi and the Discovery Channel, created a series of PSAs with the goal of highlighting the dramatic effect diabetes has on the U.S. and the health of its citizens.

Sen. Orrock, a member of the WIG board, applauds this partnership, saying, “We have an alarming incidence of diabetes in Georgia. We are reaching out to inform our constituents about the serious threat of diabetes and to connect them with available resources to both prevent and manage this disease.”
