Sen. Mullis and Rep. Deffenbaugh Hold Transportation Meeting on Issues in Dade County and Northwest Georgia

ATLANTA (September 30, 2013) –  Senator Jeff Mullis (R-Chickamauga) and Representative John Deffenbaugh (R-Lookout Mountain) recently held a meeting with Harry Maddox, Traffic Engineer, with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to work on several issues for Dade County and Northwest Georgia.

“I remain committed to improving the transportation infrastructure of Dade County and Northwest Georgia,” said Sen. Mullis.  “I will continue to discuss the matters with the parties involved in order to resolve any problems in order to ensure safe and sturdy roads for county citizens, businesses and visitors.”

“Mr. Maddox is an asset towards solving issues in Dade County and Northwest Georgia,” said Rep. Deffenbaugh. “The citizens of my district will greatly benefit from the work of the Georgia Department of Transportation.”

Possible improvements that were discussed include better lane striping and some increased signage for accident prone intersection, Highway 11 and 136 West in Trenton.  As a result of that meeting, pavement improvements have already been made on Hwy 136 on the Trenton side of Lookout Mountain.  Maddox will continue to work on the issues for Dade County and Northwest Georgia.
