Sen. Mike Dugan Elected to Serve as Senate Majority Leader

 ATLANTA (November 15, 2018) | On Tuesday, November 13, 2018, the Georgia Senate Majority Caucus elected Sen. Mike Dugan (R – Carrollton) to serve as Senate Majority Leader.

“I am humbled that my caucus colleagues trust me to serve as their leader in the Senate,” said. Sen. Dugan. “I will not take my duties lightly and look forward to working with not only our caucus members, but the Senate as a whole. By working together, we can build on the successes of last year and ensure that our citizens will continue to experience job growth and economic expansion. I look forward to passing legislation that will ensure Georgia remains the number one state in which to do business.”

Sen. Dugan was elected to the Georgia Senate in 2013. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Senate Economic Development and Tourism Committee, and serves as a member of the Public Safety, Transportation, and Veterans, Military, and Homeland Security Committees. This will be his first term serving as the Senate Majority Leader.
