Sen. Mike Crane Hosts Newnan Youth Council at the Capitol

ATLANTA (February 27, 2013) – Sen. Mike Crane (R-Newnan), Rep. Carl Von Epps (D-LaGrange) and Rep. Lynn Smith (R-Newnan) hosted the Newnan Youth Council at the State Capitol on February 26. 

“It was a privilege to spend time with the outstanding members of the Newnan Youth Council,” said Sen. Crane.  “I applaud them for their community involvement and leadership roles they play in our community.”

After the Newnan Youth Council observed the state legislature in process in both the Senate and House galleries, they enjoyed a luncheon sponsored by Buffalo Rock of Newnan, a food and beverage provider that employs more than 170 people in their Newnan Division.  Buffalo Rock of Newnan serves more than 500,000 people in Paulding, Haralson, Carroll, Heard, Coweta, Fayette, Spaulding, Upson, Pike, Lamar, Troup and Meriwether counties.

Established in 2008, the Newnan Youth City Council provides governmental leadership training and opportunities to high school students in Coweta County. They are the official youth voice and ambassadors for the City of Newnan.
