Sen. Marty Harbin Speaks at Memorial Day Ceremony in Fayette County

AMemorial DayTLANTA (June 9, 2016) | Sen. Marty Harbin (R – Tyrone) spoke at a Memorial Day Ceremony in Fayette County on Monday, May 30, 2016. The event was held at the plaza in front of Peachtree City Hall and the Fayetteville Cemetery to commemorate and honor our country’s fallen soldiers.

“It was a wonderful privilege to join the Fayette County community on Memorial Day to honor the courageous men and women who have defended our great nation for many years,” said Sen. Harbin. “Sadly, many of these soldiers never returned home. Remembering this solemn fact, let us honor the sacrifice of our military veterans and their fallen brothers and sisters each and every day with a sincere thank you. Shall we never forget the price of freedom.”

Sen. Harbin was joined at the event by military veterans, their families and community members. Other speakers at the event included Vietnam veteran and Councilman Mike King, local resident and Army veteran Brig. Gen. Peter Madsen and Fayetteville Mayor Ed Johnson, a retired Navy Commander.
