Sen. Majority Leader Rogers and House Representative Graves Participate in Tax Day Tea Party Events

Senate Majority Leader Chip Rogers (R-Woodstock) and House Representative Tom Graves (R-Ranger) will participate in Atlanta Tea Party Activities at the Georgia State Capitol on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 (www.atlantateaparty.net). Sen. Rogers and Rep. Graves will be available to discuss the JOBS Act (HB 481 and 482) and other legislation passed during the 2009 Legislative Session that will get Georgia on the road to economic recovery and lead the way for a true economic stimulus plan.

Recently, the Georgia General Assembly completed their legislative session where they cut almost $3 billion in state spending, cut taxes and passed two balanced budgets. Representative Graves and Senator Rogers worked together to pass legislation that will spur Georgia’s economy through tax cuts and credits while encouraging businesses to hire people who are currently unemployed (JOBS Act). The legislation draws a stark contrast to the excessive spending coming out of Washington DC. House Bills 481 and 482 await Governor Perdue’s signature.
