Sen. Larry Walker Appointed to Influential Senate Committees

ATLANTA (January 17, 2019) | Sen. Larry Walker (R – Perry) has been appointed by the Senate Committee on Assignments to serve as a member of the Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Appropriations, Health and Human Services, and Insurance and Labor Committees for the 2019-2020 Legislative Session.

“I’m excited to serve my constituents and will work hard to ensure our community is heard,” said Sen. Walker. “All of these committees will hear many important topics and have the ability to have a direct impact on our district. I am excited to get to work on issues such as rural healthcare, veteran care, agriculture rebuilding surrounding Hurricane Michael and appropriations for the state buildings in our district. I hope that my experiences in each of these distinct areas will help move our state forward.”

Sen. Walker will also serve as an ex-officio member of the Veterans, Military, and Homeland Security Committee. The first session of the 155th Georgia General Assembly convened on January 14, 2019 at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta.
