Sen. John F. Kennedy Hosts Fire Chief David Herdon

KennedyATLANTA (February 3, 2015)  |  During the 43rd Fire Fighter Recognition Day at the Capitol, Sen. John F. Kennedy (R – Macon) met with City of Forsyth Fire Chief David Herdon.

“I would like to commend Chief Herdon and his station on their outstanding work in the City of Forsyth and the surrounding community,” Sen. Kennedy said. “It is great to see so many of Georgia’s selfless first responders and life savers in the Capitol so we can recognize their crucial work.”

Set by law for the first Tuesday in February, this year is the 43rd Fire Fighter Recognition Day. The ceremonies began at 10:00 a.m. with elected officials including Governor Nathan Deal acknowledging and applauding contributions made by all fire service personnel in Georgia.  The ceremony also recognized and presented commendations to award recipients of the Georgia State Firefighters Association, Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs, and Georgia Fire Inspectors Association.
