ATLANTA (December 11, 2015) | Sen. John Albers (R – Roswell) and Sen. P.K. Martin (R- Lawrenceville) encouraged fans from high schools in their districts to bring as many non-perishable food items as they could to the Roswell-Grayson High School Football Playoff game last Saturday as part of a friendly food drive competition.

“When Sen. Martin challenged me to a food drive I saw it not only as a fun way to give back to our communities during the holiday season, but also as a way to boost moral for those less fortunate,” said Sen. Albers. “I want to thank the fans of both schools for their contributions as well as congratulate Roswell High School on their wonderful generosity.”

The stakes of the bet were simple; whichever high school won the game won the bet. The losing senator had to wear the other team’s jersey while delivering the donated food and had to contribute an additional $250.

In the end, Sen. Albers won the drive and chose to donate the proceeds to North Fulton Community Charities. In honor of the Roswell Hornets and for Sen. Martin being a good sport, Sen. Albers matched the $250 donation.
