Sen. John Albers Introduces Protecting Georgia Small Businesses Act

ATLANTA (January 25, 2016) | Sen. John Albers (R – Roswell) Thursday introduced Senate Bill 277, which would protect Georgia’s small businesses from federal government overreach.

“I am confident this legislation will greatly protect and support Georgia’s small businesses and their employees,” said Sen. Albers. “My goal is to provide businesses with the opportunity to maintain control of business operations at a local level without the excessive burden of federal regulations and overreach.”

Senate Bill 277 states neither a franchisee nor a franchisee’s employee be considered employees of the franchisor. This legislation is in response to the National Labor Relations action in August 2015.

Senate Bill 277 will now go to the Senate Insurance and Labor Committee for consideration.
