Sen. Hardie Davis Visits Richmond County Magnet School to Celebrate Georgia STEM Day

ATLANTA (May 6, 2013) – Sen. Hardie Davis (D-Augusta) spoke at Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School in Augusta on Friday as a part of the Georgia Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Day.  Sen. Davis was on hand to discuss future careers for students in the related STEM fields.

“As our economy continues to develop and thrive, the demand for a skilled workforce will grow,” said Sen. Davis.  “STEM Day provides a great opportunity to expose our children to these disciplines; all of which are offered within our exceptional educational system.  These fields are vital to not only the economic success of our state, but to the individual achievements of our students.”

STEM Day is a statewide initiative that promotes events to celebrate professional opportunities for students in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.  The TAG Educational Collaborative, a division of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), spent the day encouraging teachers, students and companies to partake in exciting STEM activities and ideas.
