Sen. Greg Kirk Selected to Participate in Legislative Health Policy Certificate Program

ATLANTA (June 11, 2015)  |  Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle selected Sen. Greg Kirk (R- Americus) to participate in Georgia State’s 2015 Legislative Health Policy Certificate Program taking place this summer.

“The Legislative Health Policy Certificate Program is a great opportunity for me to gain a better understanding of one of the most pressing issues in the nation, healthcare,” said Sen. Kirk. “This program will allow me to gain knowledge and ensure that South Georgia has the very best healthcare possible so that Georgians can live better and healthier lives.”

The Legislative Health Policy Certificate Program, sponsored by the Georgia Health Policy Center at Georgia State University, is designed to prepare state legislators and their staff for the challenging health issues before them. It was created for those wanting to improve their understanding of health and health care and includes four sessions: Why health matters to our state; health financing; health coverage, access to care and prevention; and an overview of special health topics.
