ATLANTA (July 9, 2015)  |  Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle appointed Sen. Greg Kirk (R- Americus) to the Agricultural Exposition Authority Overview Committee on June 3. The Georgia Agriculture Exposition Authority Overview Committee is responsible for overseeing the Georgia Agriculture Exposition Authority and its management of the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter.

“The Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter has played a huge role in boosting Georgia’s economic climate, generating an excess of $1.5 billion since its opening in 1990,” said Sen. Kirk. “It is truly an honor to be a part of a committee designed to ensure the future success of such an important piece of Georgia’s tourism industry. My family and I have attended the fair on a continuous basis since we moved back to Georgia in 1993.”

The Georgia National Fairgrounds is home to the official, state-sponsored Georgia National Fair held the fifth Thursday after Labor Day. This year’s fair will feature musical guests Alabama and Rascal Flatts.

The Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter is a state-owned, multipurpose rental complex open year-round. It contains over 1,100 acres that are specially designed for meetings, conferences, trade shows, livestock and horse shows, concerts, rodeos and RV rallies.
