Sen. Gloria Butler to Moderate a Panel at the Women in Government Conference in California

ATLANTA (June 22, 2018) |Sen. Gloria Butler (D – Stone Mountain) will moderate a panel on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) today at the annual Women in Government National Legislative Conference in San Francisco, California.

“I am looking forward to moderating this panel and hearing from all the experienced, knowledgeable professionals and stakeholders on this important topic,” said Sen. Butler. “COPD and other associated complications pose a major risk to both the physical and financial well-being of our state and nation’s citizens. It is important that we understand the disease and look at ways we can help with research and funding through legislation and other state initatives.”

Sen. Butler serves on the Senate Health and Human Services Committee. During the 2018 Legislative Session, Sen. Butler was a co-signer on Senate Resolution 865 which would support the creation of the State of Georgia Council on Respiratory Health Promotion.
