Sen. Gloria Butler Elected Minority Caucus Chairwoman

ATLANTA (November 16, 2018) | On November 14th, Sen. Gloria Butler (D – Stone Mountain) was elected by her minority caucus colleagues to serve as the Minority Caucus Chairwoman.

“I am honored to be selected by my colleagues to serve as the Minority Caucus Chairwoman,” said Sen. Butler. “I am confident that this leadership team will continue to build on the Minority Caucus’s hard work to provide every citizen with equal opportunity, affordable healthcare and a secure voting process. I am proud to be a member of this caucus and look forward to moving Georgia in a positive direction with the help of our new members and leadership.”

Sen. Butler previously served as the Vice-Chairwoman of the Senate Minority Caucus Fundraising and Campaign Committee. She is the former chair of the National Black Caucus of State Legislators (NBCSL) region 6, which includes Florida and Georgia. She is currently an at-large member of NBCSL. She is the former vice chair of the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus, board member of the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL) and a newly-elected Board of Directors member of Women In Government (WIG). In addition to these positions, she also serves as the secretary of the Ethics and Urban Affairs Committees, as well as a member of the Rules, Health and Human Services, Transportation, State and Local Governmental Operations Committees, and MARTOC.
