Sen. Frank Ginn and Mayor Nancy Denson Honor Willie “W.C.” Bolton on the Occasion of His Retirement with Senate Resolution 77

Frank Ginn (R – Danielsville), Athens Mayor Nancy Denson, and the entire board honored the retirement of Willie “W.C.” Bolton with the presentation of Senate Resolution 77 on Tuesday, March 17. Mayor Denson presented Mr. Bolton with a treasured key to the City of Athens for his dedicated and meritorious service.  The presentation was held at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center Northeast Board Meeting in Athens. Bolton served for 42 years in law enforcement, including time spent as a deputy sheriff and working multiple positions in government associations.

“I am honored to present Senate Resolution 77 to my friend Willie Bolton,” said Sen. Ginn “I am proud to honor his achievements and thank him for all the years he has served this state and the thousands of citizens he has personally assisted. The Georgia State Senate wishes nothing but the absolute best for this great man.”

Willie Bolton began his law enforcement career first as a deputy sheriff in Clarke County in 1973. He was appointed Director of the Department of Corrections in 1994. He is a member of the GA Prison Warden’s Association, the Peace Officers Association of GA, and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives. He has also been honored with numerous awards, including the 1996 NAACP Service Award. Athens-Clarke Manager Alan Reddish commented on what a pleasure it was to work with Warden Bolton.
