Sen. Ed Harbison Honors Fellow Veterans at Georgia Military Veterans’ Hall of Fame Induction

ATLANTA (November 8, 2016) | Sen. Ed Harbison (D – Columbus) was chosen to present medals to 17 Georgia veterans and their families who were inducted into the Georgia Military Veterans’ Hall of Fame on Saturday, Nov. 5, in Columbus, Georgia. Sen. Harbison was inducted to the Georgia Military Veterans’ Hall of Fame in 2014.

“I am honored to present these outstanding veterans with medals as they are inducted into the Georgia Military Veterans’ Hall of Fame,” said Sen. Harbison. “For years, I have worked to pass legislation to make Georgia an accepting and welcoming place for veterans and their families to live. We are lucky to live in a state with such an outstanding military and veteran presence. I am happy to see veterans being honored right here in Columbus.”

The Georgia Military Veterans’ Hall of Fame was established in 2013 by retired Col. Paul Longgrear and to date has inducted 49 veterans from across the state of Georgia. Georgia veterans may be nominated in one of three categories: valor, achievement or service. The Georgia Military Veterans’ Hall of Fame exists to honor Georgia military veterans for their service to our state and nation and to educate Georgia youth and citizens about heroes.
