ATLANTA (February 28, 2013) – Sen. Chuck Hufstetler (R-Rome) was recently appointed to serve on the Georgia Commission on Men’s Health (CMH) by the Senate Committee on Assignments. The Commission is comprised of eleven members including healthcare professionals, legislators and Heavyweight Champion Evander Holyfield.
“I am honored to serve on this commission and look forward to working with other members to address men’s health concerns in our state,” said Sen. Hufstetler. “We will focus on developing statewide opportunities to promote awareness, disease prevention, wellness, and positive behavior changes for the betterment of all Georgians.”

The CMH was created under House Bill 1235 in 2000 to address the ongoing, increasing and predominantly silent crisis in the health and well-being of Georgia’s men. The CMH functions to improve men’s health outcomes and monitors proposed and active state and federal policy/legislation impacting men’s health.
Sen. Hufstetler also serves as the Vice-Chairman of the State and Local Government Committee and as a member of the Education and Youth, Health and Human Services and Science and Technology committees.
