Sen. Butch Miller Appointed to House Commission on Transit Governance and Funding

ATLANTA (May 26, 2017) | Sen. Butch Miller (R – Gainesville) was appointed by Speaker David Ralston (R – Blue Ridge) to serve on the House Commission on Transit Governance and Funding. Speaker Ralston’s office made the member announcement on Thursday, May 25, 2017.

“I am grateful for this opportunity and am humbled to be appointed as a Senator to a House Commission by Speaker Ralston.” said Sen. Miller. “It is an honor to be able to represent not only the Senate, but all of the residents of Georgia on this commission. Speaker Ralston’s appointment sends a clear message that he is willing to work with not only me, but members around the state to ensure transit issues in Georgia are addressed efficiently and effectively. I look forward to working on the commission and to bringing true solutions for all Georgia’s transit needs.”

House Resolution 848, passed during the 2017 legislative session, created the House Commission on Transit and Governance Funding. This commission will be made up of 17 members, divided into four groups and including three ex-officio appointees, who will review Georgia’s transit needs and discuss possible solutions. Members of the commission are a combination of legislators, transportation agency directors and transit stakeholders.
