Sen. Blake Tillery to Serve on Complete Count Committee

ATLANTA (September 16, 2019) | Governor Brian P. Kemp recently appointed Sen. Blake Tillery (R – Vidalia) to serve as a member of the Complete Count Committee in preparation for the upcoming 2020 U.S. Census. The committee is part of a nonpartisan initiative by the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget to count every Georgian in the census.

“The 2020 census has implications on political representation, commercial and industrial development opportunities, and federal government funding,” said Sen. Tillery. “It is especially imperative that those of us in rural communities have a concerted effort to ensure everyone is counted.  We’ve already begun this process with community leaders in some of our communities. I look forward to working with all those who wish to partner on this task.”

The Complete Count Committee is made up of 66 members from across the state who will work to ensure that residents across Georgia are counted in the 2020 Census. For the full announcement from Gov.
