Sen. Barry Loudermilk Honors Mr. Charles Fluellen in Senate Chamber

ATLANTA (February 27, 2012) – Sen. Barry Loudermilk (R-Cassville) led the Senate Chamber in a moment of silence to honor Mr. Charles Fluellen on Monday, February 27.

Mr. Fluellen was playing in a “pastor vs. politicians” charity basketball game alongside Sen. Loudermilk when he suffered an apparent heart attack on Saturday and later passed away. Fluellen was the Bartow County Transit Department director and pastor of Glory Harvester Church in Cartersville.

“Mr. Fluellen was a prominent member of our community and a great man of God. He was unbelievably dedicated to his congregation and family,” said Sen. Loudermilk. “His presence will remain with everyone who met him and his memory will forever live within the Bartow community. It is only suiting to honor such a prestigious man with a resolution that will forever embody his spirit at the State Capitol.”

The House of Representatives and Senate will be crafting legislation to honor Mr. Fluellen in the coming weeks.
