ATLANTA (May 23, 2011) – Sen. John Albers (R-Roswell) recently scored an “A” on the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Legislative Scorecard, which grades legislators on their support of the business community during the 2011 Legislative Session.
“Protecting and supporting business is the key to a thriving state economy. I’m proud of this score and will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure the needs of the business community are met so we can foster job creation and growth in Georgia,” said Albers.
Legislators were assigned midterm grades of A, B, C, or Unsatisfactory based on eleven Chamber bills on the scorecard in the House and ten bills in the Senate. Each legislator’s grade reflects a midterm assessment of their support of business community priorities. A final grade will be given to each elected official following the 2012 session of the Georgia General Assembly.
The Chamber believes that ensuring Georgia maintains a business-friendly environment that encourages job creation and economic growth should be the top priority for our legislature. This scorecard was designed to create a level of accountability between legislators and the business community.
