Johnson: Statement on Being Appointed Ex-Officio of Senate Transportation Committee

ATLANTA (Aug. 26, 2009) – State Senator Eric Johnson (R-Savannah) issued the following statement today on his appointment by Lt. Governor Casey Cagle as an ex-officio member of the Senate Transportation Committee.  An ex-officio is appointed by the Lt. Governor as an addition to the committee with the same voting privileges as other members.

“I want to thank the Lieutenant Governor for entrusting me with an appointment to serve on this very important committee.  Whether we are addressing quality of life issues for commuters in metropolitan areas or the need for efficient shipment of goods over our roads, transportation is a critical issue in every corner of this state.  I look forward to helping find solutions to improve our transportation infrastructure and bring more jobs to Georgia.”
