James Magazine Honors Sen. Judson Hill as “Legislator of the Year”

ATLANTA (April 7, 2014) | James Magazine, one of Georgia’s leading publications discussing Georgia news and politics, has selected Sen. Judson Hill (R—Marietta) as its 2014 “Legislator of the Year.” The honor was listed in the magazine’s annual edition of the most influential Georgians, a distinction given to leading individuals in business, government, politics, education, science and the arts.

“I am humbled to be recognized among such a respected group of Georgia leaders,” said Sen. Hill. “The legislature made some tough but necessary decisions this year, but these are decisions that will create a positive impact for years to come.”

During the 2014 legislative session, Sen. Hill led a number of measures to successful final approval by the Georgia General Assembly and s Senate Finance Chairman he continues to have a key role directing the tax and fiscal policies for the state.  A longtime advocate for conservative healthcare reform, Sen. Hill continues to champion free market patient centered healthcare reforms that empower individuals and their healthcare providers to make the best personal care decisions.

First elected in 2004, Sen. Hill currently serves as the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and Secretary of the Senate Insurance and Labor Committee.  Sen. Hill is also a member of the Senate Appropriations, Health and Human Services, Judiciary, Rules and Regulated Industries Committees. Sen. Hill and his wife, Shelly, are proud parents of three children and have lived in East Cobb County for over 25 years.
