Governor Brian Kemp to Sign Senator Lester Jackson’s Bill into Law

ATLANTA (July 15, 2020) | Gov. Kemp is set to sign Senate Bill 28 into law on Thursday, July 16, 2020. Sponsored by Sen. Jackson (D – Savannah), SB 28 establishes that insurance copayments must be reasonably priced in accordance with its corresponding health benefit plan.

“High insurance copayments should not keep individuals from receiving the care they need,” said Sen. Jackson. “I was proud to author this legislation that ensures Georgians are able to prioritize their health and well-being. This was a bipartisan supported effort, and I commend the Governor for working to limit unnecessary financial burdens on Georgia consumers.”
