Georgia Senate Honors Dr. Frank McDonald, Jr. For His Service

ATLANTA (January 25, 2018) |Senate President Pro Tempore Butch Miller (R – Gainesville) and the Georgia Senate honored Dr. Frank McDonald, Jr. with Senate Resolution 600 on January 24, 2018. Dr. McDonald was also welcomed as the Senate’s Doctor of the Day.

“Dr. McDonald has an incredible impact on our community,” said Sen. Miller. “He is a loving, caring physician and a man of great intellect and integrity. He brings so much to the medical community, and we are honored to have him here with us.”

Dr. McDonald received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical School and later completed his residency and fellowship at University Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. He also has a master’s degree in business administration with honors from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

Dr. McDonald has practiced neurology and electrophysiology for more than 15 years and specializes in diagnosing and treating a variety of neurological diseases using the latest, cutting-edge technology. He has based his work out of the Longstreet Clinic in Gainesville, Georgia since 2010 and retains hospital privileges at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Outside of caring for his patients, Dr. McDonald is heavily involved in the medical community. He served as the 163rd president of the Medical Association of Georgia, for two years as the speaker for the Medical Association of Georgia’s House of Delegates and is a graduate of the Medical Association of Georgia Foundation’s Georgia Physicians Leadership Academy. Dr. McDonald is also involved with the Georgia Neurological Society, where he previously served as president and remains on its board of directors.
