First Meeting of the Joint Study Committee on Stream Buffers in Georgia

ATLANTA (September 28, 2017) | The Joint Study Committee on Stream Buffers in Georgia will hold its first meeting on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in room 606 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building.

The Joint Study Committee on Stream Buffers in Georgia was created by the passage of Senate Resolution 152. Senator Frank Ginn (R – Danielsville) and Representative Lynn Smith (R – Newnan) serve as co-chairs of the study committee which is comprised of 17 members who will determine what the best course of action will be to address water protection while also maintaining private property rights. Members are responsible for submitting a report of findings and recommendations, including proposed legislation, by December 31, 2017.
