FFA-FCCLA Dining Hall Named After Sen. John Wilkinson

ATLANTA (July 26, 2018) | On Thursday, July 19, Sen. John Wilkinson (R – Toccoa) was given the honor of having a dining hall named after him on the Georgia FFA-FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) Center campus in Covington, Georgia.

“I am so honored to be recognized by the state’s FFA and FCCLA members,” said Sen. Wilkinson. “I believe that FFA and FCCLA are two of the most important organizations I have been involved in during my life as a teacher and state Senator. These programs lead our students down paths of growth, leadership and academic excellence and I firmly believe that the impact these two organizations have on today’s youth makes them better stewards of their community and citizens of Georgia. I am humbled to be given this distinction and look forward to hearing about all of the wonderful activities that are hosted in the dining hall.”

Sen. Wilkinson, a lifelong advocate of FFA and FCCLA, serves as the Agriculture and Consumer Affairs Committee Chairman of the Georgia Senate. Before Sen. Wilkinson was elected to the state Senate, he was a teacher, worked for the Georgia Department of Education as their agriculture education program manager and executive secretary for the Georgia FFA association. In addition, he is a member of the Georgia Agricultural Education Hall of Fame and was recognized as the Outstanding Member of the National Association of Supervisors of Agricultural Education in 2006.
