Sen. Judson Hill’s Healthcare Choice Expansion Passes Senate

MARIETTA (Mar. 26, 2010) – Legislation aimed at increasing competition among heath insurance providers by expanding Georgian’s private healthcare choices outside the state passed the Georgia Senate Wednesday.  State Sen. Judson Hill (R-Marietta) authored Senate Bill 407 that would allow Georgia healthcare customers to buy approved out-of-state healthcare insurance plans.  (more…)

Sen. Judson Hill Continues Fight to Protect Georgians’ Choices on Healthcare

Presents Healthcare Freedom of Choice Act to Senate

ATLANTA (Mar. 17, 2010) – State Sen. Judson Hill (R-Marietta) brought legislation before the Senate that would allow Georgians a vote on the November ballot to protect their right to choice and freedoms with health insurance plans.  The Health Care Freedom of Choice Constitutional Amendment (Senate Resolution 794), authored by Hill, would have allowed Georgia citizens the opportunity to decide whether or not to add an amendment to Georgia Constitution stating that no one in the state could be forced to purchase a healthcare plan against their will or be penalized for not doing so.  All 34 Senate Republicans joined Hill in support of his measure, but with no Democrat support for SR 794, the resolution fell short of the two-thirds majority required to pass a Constitutional Amendment (more…)

Sen. Judson Hill’s Medical ID Theft Protection Clears Senate

MARIETTA (Mar. 9, 2010) – A bill aimed to protect Georgia families from the quickly-spreading crime of medical identification theft overwhelmingly passed the Georgia state Senate Monday.  State Sen. Judson Hill (R-Marietta) authored Senate Bill 334 which will bring felony charges against any person who willfully and fraudulently uses another person’s identity for obtaining medical care. (more…)

Sen. Judson Hill Announces Legislation Protecting Georgia’s Public Works Jobs

MARIETTA (Mar. 8, 2010) – State Sen. Judson Hill (R-Marietta) today introduced the Georgia Public Works and Contractor Protection Act (Senate Bill 460) to help safeguard taxpayer-funded jobs in Georgia.  This important new legislation aims to clarify the existing legal process for obtaining public contracts and the employee eligibility verification system.  SB 460 also establishes clear consequences for violation of worker protection procedures. Legislation passed by Senate Committee, on to Senate for full vote

ATLANTA (Feb. 11, 2010) –Legislation aimed to protect Georgia’s citizens from being forced into government-run health care passed out of a key committee and is on its way to the Senate floor.  The Health Care Freedom of Choice Constitutional Amendment (Senate Resolution 794) and its companion bill (Senate Bill 317), authored by State Sen. Judson Hill (R-Marietta), were both approved by the Senate Insurance & Labor Committee this week. (more…)
