Legislation to Increase Bonding Authority for GAHEFA Passes the Senate

ATLANTA (February 1, 2012) – The Georgia Senate today passed SB 302 with a vote of 45 to 5, showing tremendous bipartisan support for the measure. Sponsored by Sen. Cecil Staton (R-Macon), this legislation increases the amount of bonding authority for the Georgia Higher Education Facilities Authority (GAHEFA) from $300 to $500 million.

Sen. Cecil Staton Named Legislator of the Year by Georgia Bio

ATLANTA (January 27, 2012) – Sen. Cecil Staton (R-Macon) was recently named Legislator of the Year by Georgia Bio, an organization dedicated to advancing the life sciences industry in Georgia. Sen. Staton was honored Thursday evening at the Annual Georgia Bio Awards Dinner at the Fox Theater in Atlanta.

Students from the Stratford Academy Visit the Georgia State Capitol

Senate Republicans elect Staton new Majority Whip
