Senators Watson and Mallow Express Condolences for Fallen Soldiers in Jordan

ATLANTA (Jan. 31, 2024) – Today, Sen. Ben Watson (R-Savannah) and Sen. Derek Mallow (D-Savannah) join the nation in mourning the tragic loss of three army reservists in Jordan. Among them was Specialist Breonna Alexsondria Moffett, a selfless Georgian from Savannah, who succumbed to injuries in an unmanned drone attack on their housing units.

Bryan County Receives $60 Million GEFA Loan to Implement Major Wastewater System Overhaul

ATLANTA (Nov. 15, 2023) | On Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023 Bryan County, Georgia was awarded a $60 million loan by the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA). The funds come from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF), marking a significant investment in local infrastructure and environmental conservation efforts.

Senate Passes Clarence Thomas Monument Bill

ATLANTA (February 14, 2023) | Today, the Georgia State Senate passed Senate Bill 69. Sponsored by Sen. Ben Watson (R – Savannah), it would provide placement of a monument for the Honorable Clarence Thomas within the capitol building or the capitol grounds. Funding for the monument would be collected from gifts or donations given by individuals, organizations and foundations. A monument committee would be established to discuss the placement of the monument and would consist of two State Representatives appointed by the Speaker of the House, two State Senators appointed by the Lieutenant Governor, and one from each chamber appointed by the Governor.
