ATLANTA (Jan. 14, 2010) – Yesterday, State Senator Ronald B. Ramsey, Sr. (D–Lithonia) addressed a coalition of the blind and deaf community about funding regarding the 2007 legislation, SB 49. The bill, signed by the governor, transferred the deaf-blind community services from the Division of Rehabilitation Services to the Department of Labor to allow for better access to critical resources.
ATLANTA (Jan. 13, 2010) – Today, State Senator Ronald B. Ramsey, Sr. (D–Lithonia) was selected for several leadership roles at the state capitol. He was appointed to the Senate Judiciary Committee, selected as a member of the State Workforce Investment Board, under the Governor’s Office of Workforce Development. ATLANTA (Dec. 11, 2009) – Yesterday, State Senator Ronald B. Ramsey, Sr. (D–Lithonia) pre-filed Senate Bill 300, the Student Protection from Predators Act. The legislation is in direct response to the acquittal of a 36-year-old, Marietta high school teacher who admittedly had consensual sexual relations with his 17-year-old student. (more…)
