Sen. Curt Thompson Supports Installation of Farmer D’s Organic Garden at Minor Elementary

ATLANTA (May 18, 2010) –Sen. Curt Thompson (D-Norcross) has joined efforts with Farmer D Organics to teach children about proper nutrition and gardening.  Recently, two 5th districts schools worked with the Farmer D staff to install organic gardens.  Minor Elementary is the first school in the district to start the program.

Sen. Curt Thompson’s MARTA Rail Expansion Legislation Passes Senate

ATLANTA (March 22, 2010) – The State Senate voted 37 to 9 Thursday to pass Sen. Curt Thompson’s (D-Norcross) MARTA Rail Expansion bill (SB 285), which will allow more metro Atlanta counties to utilize MARTA’s rapid rail system.

Senator Curt Thompson Participates in Purim Holiday Celebration

WHAT:           State Sen. Curt Thompson (D-Norcross) will be participating in the King David Academy’s Purim Day Celebration on Sunday, February 28 from 11-3 p.m.  The holiday celebrates the deliverance of the Jews from the ancient Persian Empire, and is told in the biblical book of Ester. This free event is open to the public and will include circus performers, a petting zoo, face painting and Russian and Asian foods. Participants are also encouraged to wear traditional costumes.

Sen. Curt Thompson to Hold Citizen’s Advisory Forum

WHAT: Sen. Curt Thompson (D-Norcross) will hold a Citizen Advisory Forum on Saturday, January 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Café Maum in Doraville. The topic of this month’s meeting will be the 2010 census.
