Sen. John Albers Leads Passage of the Digital Classroom Act

ATLANTA (March 3, 2015) | Sen. Albers (R- Roswell) led the passage of Senate Bill 89, known as the “Digital Classroom Act,” today by a vote of 45 to 8. “Tanja’s Law” Receives Approval from the Georgia Senate

 ATLANTA (March 3, 2015) |  Senate Bill 72, which determines new punishments for harming or killing a law enforcement animal, passed the Georgia State Senate on Friday, February 20. The legislation is also called “Tanja’s Law” after a Walker County K-9 who was killed in June 2014. Sen. Jeff Mullis (R – Chickamauga) was the bill’s sponsor, which passed by a vote of 46 to 3. Sen. Lester Jackson Leads Passage of Senate Bill 103 through Senate Interstate Cooperation Committee

ATLANTA (March 2, 2015) | Yesterday, Sen. Lester Jackson (D- Savannah) led the passage of Senate Bill 103 out of the Senate Interstate Cooperation Committee.  SB 103 will allow Savannah to extend the St. Patrick’s Day holiday to four days, incorporating weekend days to the annual celebration. Bill Providing Guidance for Georgia Insurers Passes Senate

ATLANTA (March 3, 2015)  |  Sen. P.K. Martin (R – Lawrenceville) sponsored Senate Bill 108, requiring insurers to maintain a risk management agenda by completing an Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA). SB 108 provides guidance for filling out the ORSA Summary report with the Insurance Commissioner, and ensures the report’s confidentiality.
