ATLANTA (November 17, 2014)  |  Sen. Renee Unterman (R – Buford) toured state-of-the-art medical facilities with Sen. Dean Burke (R – Bainbridge) and Rep. Micah Gravley (R – Douglasville) prior to a meeting of the Joint Study Committee on Prescription of Medical Cannabis for Serious Medical Conditions on November 12 in Augusta. The three legislators, who are also members of the joint study committee, were given an up-close-and-personal look at the operations of the Joseph M. Sen. Butch Miller Named a Recipient of ACCG’s 2014 Legislative Service Award

ATLANTA (November 14, 2014) | Sen. Butch Miller (R – Gainesville) was honored with ACCG’s 2014 Legislative Service Award at the organization’s Fall District Meeting on November 12. The award recognizes his efforts to improve public policy directly affecting Georgia county operations and infrastructure during the 2014 legislative session. Sen. Miller was specifically praised for his work on House Bill 310 and Senate Bill 297, both of which were successfully signed into Georgia law before the conclusion of the legislative session. Sen. Renee Unterman Offers Support to Statewide Initiative to Eliminate Child Sex Trafficking

ATLANTA (November 10, 2014)  |  Sen. Renee Unterman (R – Buford) has announced her support for the City of Brookhaven’s “Not Buying It” program during a press briefing today at Brookhaven City Hall. Originally developed through the Governor’s Office for Children and Families (GOCF) Statewide CSEC (Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children) Task Force initiative, the program encourages taking a stand against child sex trafficking through advocacy, prevention and restoration. Sen. Unterman spoke at the press briefing alongside several other state and city officials, including Attorney General Sam Olens, Georgia Bureau of Investigations Director Vernon Keenan and Brookhaven Mayor J.
